The Savonius wind turbine is an example of a vertical-axis wind turbine, which converts wind energy into torque on a rotating shaft. Although this design is less common, the vertical system has the advantage of being more practical for being mounted lower to the ground.
Each kit contains all the parts needed to build a full Savonius DC Wind Turbine. The Savonius consists of a set of blades that are folded around a dowel mounted inside of a base. The savonius blades spin the DC motor which generates power. This kit will also include some electronic components to test the output of wind harnessed.
